Royal Visitor to Lancaster Friday 29th May

In Lancaster this morning we noticed lots of parking restrictions for Thursday evening and Friday 28th and 29th May. Having checked online we now know that HM the Queen will be making a private visit to Lancaster Castle  on Friday. Many  people will be unaware that the Queen is actually also the Duke of Lancaster and her visit marks the 750th Anniversary of the creation of the Duchy of Lancaster Inheritance. In 1265, King Henry III granted land to his son, Edmund, beginning what would become the Duchy of Lancaster. Those wishing to see the visit in Lancaster should be in the area in front of the Castle by 10am.  For further information relating to where to view,  road closures etc please click here.
